We are looking for an HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function at the logistics site of a leading company in Lelystad (The Netherlands).

 

The mission of the role is to lead the site’s HR strategy and people management, ensuring operational excellence while directly contributing to improvements in key business indicators such as productivity, absenteeism, employee turnover, engagement and service quality. In addition, the role will drive the evolution of the HR function, strengthening its integration with Operations and enhancing the leadership capability of operational managers.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the site HR team.
  • Act as the HR Business Partner for the Operations team.
  • Work closely with Workforce Planning to ensure effective workforce planning.
  • Design and implement initiatives to reduce employee turnover and absenteeism.
  • Improve employee engagement, productivity and overall employee experience.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence, working closely with managers and operational teams.
  • Anticipate workforce requirements, particularly during peak periods.
  • Lead internal communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
  • Optimise the organisation and effectiveness of the HR team.
  • Develop Operations managers in people management.
  • Lead HR transformation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage agency workforce in collaboration with Workforce Planning.
  • Ensure rigorous execution of HR policies and processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner in logistics, industrial or highly operational environments, leading HR teams.
  • Experience managing large workforces and agency staff, with a proven track record of improving turnover, absenteeism and productivity.
  • Experience in organisational transformation and change management is highly desirable.
  • Languages: Fluent English is essential. Spanish and/or Dutch will be highly valued.
  • Key competencies: Strong business and results orientation, the ability to lead and influence in operational environments, and the capability to build trusted relationships. Autonomous, execution-oriented, resilient, with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in multicultural and fast-changing environments.
