This position is accountable for :
Obtaining raw materials and services at the least total cost with guidelines set by division, corporate and local plant directives.
The implementation and control of the procurement of raw materials, packaging labels and supply items in the proper quantity and desired quality in a timely manner to ensure production flow remains uninterrupted.
Raw material forecast, placing and scheduling purchase orders to meet the demand at the Automotive manufacturing sites.
Responsible for purchases to maintain responsiveness to production requirements and to obtain best possible quality.
Approve raw materials and some finished goods purchase orders if needed.
Issue or control purchase orders for all raw materials, plant supplies, and purchased finished goods at the plant, which includes confirmation of orders.
Process vendor returns.
Maintain vendor files as it relates to Purchase Orders and requisitions at the site. Send information to the correct instances in the company that can make the change in the system.
Monitor vendor performance data and sub-standards to bring about corrective action.
Disposition and control of obsolete and surplus materials in collaboration with R&D, Warehouse, Planning and QC.
Create and maintain forecasts for raw material and packaging materials.
Help AP with Invoices that need assistance, ex wrong price or quantity.
Degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management or equivalent education and experience.
3-5 years of experience in a procurement/buying role in a manufacturing environment,
Providing professional supply chain activities;
Developing and analyzing reports;
Complying with department policies and procedures;
PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applications as required;
Communicating with co-workers and suppliers to provide and receive direction.
Knowledge of at least one ERP system

Able to work under stressful situations
