<span the Strategic Direction of GXO Lelystad as Head of Operations
<span GXO continues its growth journey and strengthens the capabilities of one of the most advanced distribution centres in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Operations. Together with your fellow Head of Operations, you will oversee the full 24/7 operation and lead a team of 12 Operations Managers responsible for delivering world-class performance in a fast-paced, highly automated environment.

<span your week will look like as a Head of Operations
- <span strategic and operational leadership<span for all warehouse outbound, dispatch and related activities, ensuring safe, compliant and consistent execution across all three rotating shifts
- <span coach and inspire 12 Operations Managers<span and their teams, ensuring clarity of expectations, performance development and strong succession pipelines
- <span site-wide performance management<span using KPIs, data and analytics to identify bottlenecks, optimise processes and deliver sustainable improvements
- <span standardisation, LEAN and continuous improvement<span ensuring operational processes scale effectively with growth and automation levels
- <span customer and business requirements<span into clear operational actions, working closely with internal departments, senior leadership and the customer’s operational teams
- <span resource planning and labour strategy<span balancing workforce needs, productivity goals and cost efficiency for a 24/7 environment
- <span safety, quality and compliance<span maintaining high standards across all operational areas and fostering an inclusive, engaged and high-performing culture
- <span as a key member of the site leadership team<span partnering daily with your fellow Head of Operations, Site Director and support functions to drive execution of the site’s strategic agenda
- <span Operations in cross-functional initiatives<span such as automation deployments, change programmes, customer reviews and continuous improvement projects

<span we are looking for
- <span bachelor’s or master’s degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering or business
- <span operational leadership experience<span (8+ years) in a complex, high-volume logistics, supply chain or manufacturing environment
- <span ability to lead leaders — including developing and managing large teams (350+ indirect), ideally with exposure to automation and multidimensional operations
- <span communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, in both Dutch and English (Spanish language is a plus)
- <span strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality: able to zoom out to define direction, and zoom in when operational situations require it
- <span resilience, decisiveness and a data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- <span financial, analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable operational decisions
- <span collaborative, people-focused leader who builds trust, drives engagement and creates a safe, positive work environment
